The first stage of the 2022 edition of Paris-Nice is one for the history books. Team Visma | Lease a Bike shows itself from its strongest side. As a trio, Wout van Aert, Primoz Roglic and Christophe Laporte ride to the finish in Mantes-la-Ville. Laporte crosses the line first and takes his first win at the World Tour level. An excellent entry for the Frenchman, who is riding his first races in Dutch service. Laporte continues his excellent form in the spring classics. In the E3 Classic, he and Van Aert ride to the finish in Harelbeke before leaving the victory to his Belgian teammate. In Gent-Wevelgem, Laporte again takes second place.
