About Tiesj Benoot

Former Strade Bianche winner Tiesj Benoot transfers to Team Visma | Lease a Bike in the winter of 2021. Benoot immediately reveals himself as a master domestique in the classics core but shows that he can also go for his own success. The Belgian achieves a superb podium in Dwars door Vlaanderen and the Amstel Gold Race. The rider had an important role in the team that won the 2022 Tour de France. The versatile Benoot extends his contract until 2025, after having been a Team Jumbo-Visma rider for only six months. His good form continued into 2023. In the opening weekend of the spring classics, the Belgian wrote Kuurne - Brussels - Kuurne to his name, and a week later he finished third in Strade Bianche. In the summer of 2023, Benoot was again an important link in the Tour squad. He helped Vingegaard to his second overall victory in the Tour de France. In 2024, a year of bad luck and injuries at Team Visma | Lease a Bike, the Belgian was a constant factor and rode to some fine finishes, including in the Amstel Gold Race and Québec.
