'Het plan' takes readers behind the scenes at Team Jumbo-Visma to see how the team became the best team in the world, with top cyclists such as Primož Roglic, Tom Dumoulin, Wout van Aert, Steven Kruijswijk and Jonas Vingegaard.

In the three years leading up to the Tour win, writer Nando Boers stayed close to Team Jumbo-Visma. As fly-on-the-wall, he was allowed to be present everywhere and thus saw up close how the cycling team's tactical race plans were formed and executed. During those three years, Boers frequently spoke to the riders and coaches during races and training camps. He watched wind tunnel tests and listened to online meetings in which coaches and scientists discussed tactics, team spirit, nutrition, training methods and talent development. He also got to sit in on meetings where the progress and struggles of top cyclists such as Primož Roglic, Tom Dumoulin, Wout van Aert, Steven Kruijswijk and Jonas Vingegaard were discussed.
