Vingegaard takes third stage win in a row and wins overall classification O Gran Camino

Team Visma | Lease a Bike was able to celebrate for the third time in a row in O Gran Camino. Jonas Vingegaard took his third stage win in a row and thus also managed to secure the general classification. A perfect four-day race for the Dane and his Dutch team in the Spanish rain. The latter also ensured, among other things, that the final stage was shortened.

Dane Vingegaard was relaxed at the start this morning. He was able to start the final stage with a nice lead. After his two impressive efforts yesterday and the day before, it seemed a foregone conclusion that Vingegaard would take the overall victory. Only the weather seemed to throw a spanner in the works.

The stage to Monte Aloia was eventually shortened due to severe weather conditions. The final climb was initially planned to be climbed twice, but the organisation decided to leave it at once. With no footage and limited updates, it remained exciting until the end, but in the end it was Vingegaard who won again.

"With three stage wins and the overall victory, we can speak of an almost perfect O Gran Camino."

Jonas Vingegaard

"I am very satisfied with the past week. Everyone did a fantastic job. With three stage wins and the overall victory, we can speak of an almost perfect O Gran Camino. The only less positive thing is the weather. Very unfortunate that we had to finish in these tough weather conditions," the Dane concluded.
