The national championships road race: the results

Once again this year, the riders of Team Visma | Lease a Bike are competing in various countries for the coveted national titles and the honor of wearing the champion's jersey for a year. From the Netherlands and Belgium to Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Norway, and Denmark - discover here all the results and performances of our riders in the national road championships.

Three in a row for Valter

Attila Valter won the Hungarian national road title for the third consecutive year. After a 170-kilometre course, he narrowly beat Erik Fetter. "This is perhaps the best one so far", a proud Valter said.

Kooij sprints to silver medal

Olav Kooij was one of the top favourites for the national title. The 22-year-old sprinter from Numansdorp had to settle for place two in a disrupted sprint. "I'm disappointed, yes. We came here to take the national jersey. Although we definitely rode a good race as a team."

Van Aert fifth in Zottegem

Wout van Aert finished fifth in the Belgian championship. "I'm not at my top level yet, but it's reassuring that I was among the best again."

Mattio takes bronze in Italy

Pietro Mattio claimed a bronze medal in the U23 Italian Road Race Championships. After a race of over 166 kilometres, the young rider from Visma | Lease a Bike's Development Team only had to beat Edoardo Zamperini and Nicola Rossi.

De Vries shows herself again

Femke de Vries finished sixth at the Dutch National Road Race Championships. The 30-year-old rider from Team Visma | Lease a Bike was in the decisive breakaway, but could not prevent Chantal van den Broek-Blaak from taking the title. "I really enjoyed the game."

Laporte not near podium spots

Christope Laporte didn't manage to compete for the French title. The rider of Team Visma | Lease a Bike conceded more than a minute to winner Paul Lapeira.

Silver for Henderson

Anna Henderson won the silver medal in the road race at the British national championships. In Saltburn-by-the-Sea, the 25-year-old Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women rider finished close behind winner Pfeiffer Georgi.

Twelfth place for Kramer

The Development Team of Team Visma | Lease a Bike didn't manage to reward a strong race with the Dutch road title. Despite frantic attempts to avoid a bunch sprint, Sierk Jan de Haan's team failed to get away with a group. Jesse Kramer finished twelfth, Tijmen Graat was fifteenth. 

Fourth place for Riedmann

Linda Riedmann finished fourth at the German national road championships. In wet conditions, the 21-year-old rider from Team Visma | Lease a Bike battled for the title for a long time, but Franziska Koch, Liane Lippert and Antonia Niedermaier proved to be the stronger riders.

Høydahl finishes twenty-first, Nordhagen twenty-ninth

On the 116-kilometer course in Norway, Jonas Høydahl of Team Visma | Lease a Bike Development finished twenty-first. His teammate Jørgen Nordhagen crossed the line in twenty-ninth place.
