Teunissen finishes Tour of Norway in third place

Mike Teunissen has finished fourth in the final stage of the Tour of Norway. After a vicious final stage, the Dutch rider of Team Jumbo-Visma finished in the top ten for the fourth time. Teunissen finished the Norwegian stage race in third place in the general classification.

The final of the fourth stage began at the top of the Grisabakken. With seven kilometres to go the early breakaway had been settled and about thirty riders, including George Bennett and Teunissen, had broken free. In the sprint with a depleted peloton, Teunissen had to settle for fourth place.

"We came to win, but that became very difficult after day one."

“We rode a nice race. We came to win, but that became very difficult after day one”, Teunissen said. “We have mainly achieved a lot of places of honour this week. Of course I would like to win once, but it is nice that I at least take the victory in the points classification. A win is missing, but it wasn’t bad.”
