Team Jumbo-Visma Women starts La Vuelta with eighth place in team time trial
Team Jumbo-Visma Women set the eighth fastest time on Wednesday evening in the opening stage of the Ceratizit Challenge by La Vuelta. In the team time trial, Carmen Small's team crossed the finish line one minute behind the winners.
The American was satisfied with her team’s performance. “They did well. It was exactly what we expected. We anticipated a result around the seventh place. We can be satisfied with this eighth place.”

Small predicted that tomorrow's stage will be difficult with five categorised climbs. “Tomorrow will be an important day for the general classification. It is a day for the climbers.”
“We will ride for Anouska (Koster) and Amber (Kraak). We want to show ourselves up front in the final tomorrow, provided our riders feel good. It's going to be a very tough day.”
