Pluimers wins Eurode Omloop

Pluimers wins Eurode Omloop

Rick Pluimers has won the Eurode Omloop. In Kerkrade, the 21-year-old Dutchman narrowly won the sprint of a four-rider front group. Pluimers' win brings the number of victories for the Jumbo-Visma Development Team to six.

"I thought I was in the right breakaway, but I had to fight against three strong riders”, Pluimers said. "I was almost caught during the sprint. Luckily, I got some space and I was able to finish it off. It's great that I was able to win this race." For Pluimers, it is his first victory in 2022.

"This is a special victory."

Sierk Jan de Haan

"This is a special victory”, sports director Sierk Jan de Haan said. "All our riders were involved in this win. We were attentive from the start and in the right place at the right moment, which is necessary on this course. There is a lot of turning and everything goes at high speed. We are pleased that we could defeat such a talented field in a national race.”
