Van Aert, Jansen and Teunissen leaders Team Jumbo-Visma in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

Van Aert, Jansen and Teunissen leaders Team Jumbo-Visma in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad

It’s finally time for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. Our line-up for the race includes Wout van Aert, who will start his road season a week earlier than planned because of the possible cancellation of the Italian races. Team Jumbo-Visma won’t start with one leader, but three: Wout van Aert, Amund Jansen and Mike Teunissen.

“It’s a nice feeling to be here in Ghent”, Van Aert said. “I’m happy we made this decision. Tomorrow, I hope to reach the final with Mike and Amund. There’s no hierarchy in our team, but we will all try to get as far as possible. De Omloop is a tough race. After forty kilometres, we will already encounter the first cobbled section. I think only the best will remain.”

The weather forecast says there will be a lot of rain and a strong wind. According to Teunissen, that’s not a disadvantage. “We have to get used to it, because we’ve just come back from Tenerife. Wout, Amund and I are all good in the rain. We have no fear, it rather gives an extra stimulus.”
