Team Jumbo-Visma with sprinters and attackers to Koolskamp and Eschborn-Frankfurt

On Friday 17 and Sunday 19 September, Team Jumbo-Visma will be at the start of the one-day races Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen and Eschborn-Frankfurt. The Development Team will be at the start of the U23-version of Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen

The Championship of Flanders, also known as Koolskamp Koers, is traditionally an opportunity for sprinters to add a victory to their list of honours. The course is flat, making a bunch sprint the most realistic scenario. Team Jumbo-Visma takes a team that can try to fight for the victory with Dylan Groenewegen. Groenewegen already won the race in 2018.

Eschborn-Frankfurt

Eschborn-Frankfurt returns to the calendar after a year of absence. The course has 2600 altimetres, but the heavy parts of the course will be over relatively early in the race. The last hill ends 43 kilometres from the finish. Strong sprinters and attackers will look forward to this race. Team Jumbo-Visma can play out several riders. Dylan Groenewegen can fight for victory in a bunch sprint, while Pascal Eenkhoorn showed in Great Britain last week that he can slip into a successful breakaway. For Mike Teunissen, the German race is also a nice prelude to the World Championships of late September.

The Jumbo-Visma Development Team will be at the start of the U23-version of Liege-Bastogne-Liege of this weekend. The hilly race from Bastogne to Blegny goes over 171.6 kilometres. The finish is on a famous climb in Belgium: the Côte de la Redoute (1.7 km at 9.5%). The Jumbo-Visma Development Team has a rider in good shape with Loe van Belle. The 19-year-old van Belle won a stage in the Flanders Tomorrow Tour two weeks ago. Owen Geleijn and Rick Pluimers, after having gained experience in the World Tour this season, will also take part in the race.
