Martijn Redegeld leaves Team Visma | Lease a Bike for Ajax

After five successful years, Martijn Redegeld, Head of Nutrition at Team Visma | Lease a Bike, is bidding farewell to the world of cycling. He will continue his career in football, taking on a new role at Ajax Football Club.

Redegeld has been an invaluable asset to Team Visma | Lease a Bike. Working closely with the performance department and The Athletes Foodcoach team, he elevated the team’s nutrition strategy to a new level. This approach became a vital  component of the squad’s performance.
“I’ve had a wonderful time with this team and am deeply grateful for the fantastic collaboration with all the riders and staff. Together, we achieved significant success, and nutrition became an essential part of that. I’m proud that it has now become a foundational pillar within the team,” Redegeld shared.

His move to Ajax presents a new challenge in a different sport. “I hope to make the same impact in football. At Ajax, I see that opportunity, and I’m excited to take it on,” said Redegeld.

Richard Plugge, CEO of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, added: “We are thankful for Martijn’s dedication and innovation over the past years. He brought nutrition to the core of our performance, and it will remain a crucial part of our team. It’s inspiring to see other sports, like football, recognize and adopt our expertise.”
