Team LottoNL-Jumbo with empty hands in Quebec

The Grand Prix Cycliste de Quebec has not resulted in the desired outcome for Team LottoNL-Jumbo on Friday night. With a 32nd place Paul Martens was ranked best. The win went to Peter Sagan.

Early in the race, four riders broke away. Only in the last two laps it went full throttle. At that time, Timo Roosen was still in front, together with Paul Martens. Roosen: "We were still pretty fresh at the front the last two times we had to ride uphill. During the climb it was a battlefield. We lost each other and we had to make great efforts to stay in front. That resulted in us losing our positions in front. I saw Paul in the end, but a good result was no longer possible."

The goal to at least score a top ten ranking, must therefore be postponed for two days, to the race in Montreal. According to Roosen, it's a completely different course. "It contains a more difficult climb. It's longer and heavier. We have to come up with a different plan than today's, because it is our intention to take revenge. We will line up for the start highly motivated", Roosen said.
