Preview Milano-Sanremo and Volta a Catalunya
Dylan Groenewegen will make his debut in Milano-Sanremo this Saturday. Riders like Wout van Aert and Danny van Poppel will also start. In Volta a Catalunya, Steven Kruijswijk is the team’s leader. He’ll get reinforcement from climbers like Antwan Tolhoek and Sepp Kuss.
Sports director Jan Boven about Milano-Sanremo: “Jos is in good shape after the Tirreno. The past years, he proved he can survive the Poggio. He isn’t a quick finisher, so our goal is to get into the final with multiple riders. Guys like Wout, Danny and Mike should be able to do that.
We don’t count on Dylan during his debut. He’ll start the race to gain experience and to get to know the route, which will give him an advantage for future editions. We’re here with a very young team that has a lot of potential. The riders are here to learn and gain experience, just like Dylan.”
Sports director Merijn Zeeman about Volta a Catalunya: “The most important goal is to finish as high as possible in the general classification with Steven. He had a strong start to the season in Ruta del Sol, where he finished sixth. The third and fourth stage with finish on Valter 2000 and La Molina are the most difficult stages.
